What is Saturday Clubhouse
Saturday Clubhouse is a weekly respite childcare program for children ages 5–12 years with special needs, designed to give children a fun, supportive place to spend their Saturday morning while giving parents and caregivers a few hours to rest, recharge or take care of what they need to.
Through structured play, creative activities, sensory experiences, movement, group activities and social connection, children are supported by a caring team in an environment that celebrates who they are.
When: Saturdays | 9:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Where: Main Gym - Sundance Elementary School, 200 Sunmills Dr SE, Calgary, AB T2X 2N9

Why Saturday Clubhouse

A reliable Saturday program that gives parents and caregivers a few hours of trusted respite and time to recharge.

Children can enjoy play, crafts, sensory activities, games and time with others in a welcoming and safe space.

We take time to understand each child’s needs, interests and comfort level so they can participate in a way that works for them.
Who can attend
Saturday Clubhouse is designed for children ages 5 – 12 with special needs.
We recognize that every child brings different strengths, communication styles, interests and support needs. Children will be supported in 2:1. 1:1 can be accommodated if indicated by parents/caregivers at sign-up.
Before participation, families will be asked to provide information that helps us understand their child, including communication needs, sensory preferences, allergies, medical considerations, behavioural supports and any strategies that help their child feel comfortable and successful.
Where possible, we will work with families to determine whether Saturday Clubhouse is an appropriate fit and what level of support may be required.
Our Approach

Dignity. Supporting each child respectfully and celebrating progress in all its forms.
Support and Supervision
Children will be supervised throughout the program by a team of senior and junior staff.
Our staffing model is designed to provide smaller-group support and allow staff to respond to individual needs throughout activities, transitions, meals and play.
Our safeguarding practices include staff screening, sign-in and sign-out procedures, authorized pick-up, emergency contact information, active supervision and established procedures for incidents and emergencies.
Staff working directly with children will be expected to complete appropriate background screening, including Vulnerable Sector Checks, and relevant First Aid/CPR requirements.
